Research Scientist (MR)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

CMRU has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist to join our R&D team. As part of our team, this scientist will research and develop state-of-the-art features for the next generation of Canon MR systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop and test new pulse sequences and image reconstruction algorithms to enable cutting-edge R&D on MR systems.
  • Research and report on MR technical and clinical trends to influence future project and product strategy.
  • Generate intellectual property (patents, publications) to contribute to Canon's long-standing technical leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics or equivalent. Must have experience developing pulse sequences and/or image reconstruction methods while working on a multidisciplinary team.

Experience

  • Record of writing pulse sequences and image reconstruction algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB.
  • Past examples of understanding the fundamental issues needed to debug and solve complex technical problems.
  • Experience operating a MR scanner.
  • Record of relevant patents and/or peer-reviewed publications.

Time and Location Commitment

  • This position is regular, full-time and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours.
  • This position is based in CMRU’s office in Mayfield Village (Cleveland), Ohio.
  • A hybrid work schedule will allow the ideal candidate the flexibility to work from home on some days and from the office on other days, but the candidate must be able to come on-site daily based on project needs and business requirements.

Travel

  • The ability to complete domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time is required.
