The ADVANCE Program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience working on important technical projects. Students will take on assignments throughout the term related to CMRU project needs depending on their skills and interests. The goal of these activities is to make important contributions to CMRU programs while at the same time significantly advancing the student’s professional and personal development.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
CMRU is looking for a qualified intern to join our Computed Tomography (CT) research department. The CT system researcher (Intern) will work primarily with the CT R&D team on exciting future products, including our photon-counting CT system development and other advanced future system development. It offers a great opportunity to see how your research ideas can come to life and make a difference in countries around the world.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform system design studies using MC simulation, modeling and analysis.
- Experiment design to validate simulation results and provide design input for the future products.
- Explore and prototype new calibration workflow and algorithm for new CT system.
- Perform experiments on the testing system, collect test data, analyze, and generate test reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate is a full-time graduate student from an accredited college or university working towards a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Physics, or related STEM field.
- Students must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Good understanding of X-ray physics, good knowledge of the X-ray CT system.
- Familiar with spectral CT/Photon-counting CT related system design, calibration and image formation chain.
- Experimentation, system testing, and statistical data analysis.
- Working experience with GATE/Geant4 is a plus.
- Knowledge and working experience with phase contrasting CT is a plus.
- Good analytical and programming (Matlab, C/C++, Python, etc.) skills
- Proven ability to work and interact comfortably in a team culture with various technical backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
Time Commitment
This is a full-time, temporary position that requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks and 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday during regular business hours. This is a hybrid position, which requires in-office work at least 3 days a week.COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Compensation
This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with state law. The hourly rate ranges between $29.00 - $37.00.
