The ADVANCE Program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience working on important technical projects. Students will take on assignments throughout the term related to CMRU project needs depending on their skills and interests. The goal of these activities is to make important contributions to CMRU programs while at the same time significantly advancing the student’s professional and personal development.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
CMRU has an opening for an Embedded Software Engineering Intern in our CT business unit. The Embedded Software Engineering Intern will work with a software engineering team to design and implement high-quality embedded software for large medical devices from requirements to production. The engineer is expected to participate in the designing of solutions that meet customer needs, document the design, write clear, concise code, comment code as appropriate, and create documentation outlining code functionality.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute new ideas to Software/Product development.
- Work with your mentor to help solve problems for both customers and members of the Engineering team.
- Formulate a software design using industry best practices and document it appropriately.
- Implement the software design by following standards and best practices and test your code thoroughly.
- Analyze software requirements documentation and consult with the author as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate is a junior level or higher actively pursuing Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor's Degree at an accredited university.
- Students must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Understanding of computer architecture principles.
- Knowledge of embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience in mathematics and scientific algorithm implementation and optimization.
- Experience with version control software (i.e. Subversion, GIT)
- Understanding of state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Time Commitment
This is a full-time, temporary position that requires a minimum commitment of 12 weeks and 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday during regular business hours. This is a hybrid position, which requires in-office work at least 3 days a week.COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Compensation
This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with state law. The hourly rate ranges between $29.00 - $37.00.
