Manager, People Operations

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Canon Medical Research USA, Inc. (CMRU) has an immediate opening for a Manager, People Operations, where the qualified candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the People Operations/Human Resources function including employee relations, staffing, training, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), compensation and benefits, and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and advise leaders on all people-related situations, including performance management, violations of company policies, and any other employee relations.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department, including managing the People Operations Generalist.
  • Manage and partner with leaders on compensation-related activities including merit increases, promotions, and new hire compensation packages.
  • Partner with leaders on training and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and improve internal employee communications.
  • Manage and ensure data integrity of HRIS.
  • Oversee benefits administration, broker negotiations, and open enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws in company practices and reporting.
  • Manage termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide input to senior leaders on workplace culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience

  • At least 7 years of business experience is required.
  • Relevant HR experience is required.

Required Competencies

  • Proficient in employee laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with all levels.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; ADP HRB preferred.
  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in information gathering, data analysis and report writing.
  • Ability to negotiate internally.
  • Presentation preparation and delivery skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Senior professional human resources (SPHR) certification.
  • Certified compensation professional (CCP) designation.
  • Experience working with global companies.

Time and Location Commitment

  • The position is a regular, full-time one that requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours.
  • The position is based in CMRU’s main office in Vernon Hills (Chicago), Illinois.
  • A hybrid work schedule will allow flexibility to work remotely from home on some days and from the office on other days, but the candidate must be able to come on-site daily based on the needs of the projects and business requirements.

Travel

  • The ability to complete domestic travel up to 10% of the time is required.
