Research Scientist (MR)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

CMRU has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist to join our MR team to work alongside our clinical scientists and researchers at partner sites like the Cleveland Clinic to research and develop state-of-the-art features for the next generation of Canon MR systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write pulse sequences, image reconstruction, and post-processing algorithms to enable cutting-edge R&D on Canon MR systems.
  • Provide technical input (e.g. study design, protocol optimization) to guide the direction of clinical collaboration projects.
  • Generate intellectual property (patents, publications) to demonstrate Canon's technical leadership.
  • Research and report on MR technical and clinical trends to influence future project and product strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics or equivalent. Must have experience developing pulse sequences and/or image reconstruction methods in a multidisciplinary environment.

Experience

  • Record of writing pulse sequences and image reconstruction/postprocessing algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB.
  • Past examples of understanding the fundamental issues to debug and solve complex technical problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of disciplines (Ph.Ds, MDs, technologists) to generate successful outcomes in clinical collaborations.

Time and Location Commitment

  • This position is regular, full-time and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours.
  • This position is based in CMRU’s office in Mayfield Village (Cleveland), Ohio.
  • A hybrid work schedule will allow the ideal candidate the flexibility to work from home on some days and from the office on other days, but the candidate must be able to come on-site daily based on the needs of the projects and business requirements.

Travel

  • The ability to complete domestic and international travel up to 10% of the time is required.
